RB Leipzig is a young and aspiring football club located in the eastern part of Germany, about two hours southwest of Berlin. The club was founded in 2009 and made its way from the fifth division to the Bundesliga – one of the top leagues in Europe – by winning four promotions within seven years.
Hamburger SV2011-2013 Sponsorship
Hanwha signed a sponsorship agreement with Hamburger SV, one of the most prestigious soccer clubs with a 126-year history. Hanwha began full-scale sports marketing such as stadium branding and fan promotions in Germany which is one of the biggest global solar markets and expects to build up brand equity in European market. In partnership with Hamburger SV, Hanwha installed solar power systems on the rooftop of Osterbek School in Hamburg, providing clean power and teaching the value of renewable energy to the students.

Being one of the most established football clubs in English Premier League when it comes to environmental awareness, Bolton Wanderers FC and Hanwha shared a natural synergy. Through the partnership in the 2011-12 season, Hanwha helped to educate fans about the benefits of solar energy - even in the places that tend to get odd spots of rain.

Running Hanwha Solar advertisements in the home stadium for the 2011-12 season helped set the positive image of Hanwha and the need of next generation, environment friendly energy to the fans in Italy as well as in Europe.

The Hanwha Finance Classic gives people yet another excuse to hit the golf course with a friend, colleague or client. A highly competitive annual golf tournament, with the largest cash prize of any such competition in Korea, it is the successor of the Hanwha Seoul Women's Open, which ran for 8 years from 1990. The event is made possible through the sponsorship of seven of our Finance sector affiliates such as Hanwha Life who altogether comprise the Hanwha Finance Network and provide a full-line of financial services to meet personal and corporate financial needs.
Our own club
Hanwha Women's Professional Golf Team established in 2011. The members of Team Hanwha will show outstanding performances around the world and will bring victories to the team.
Our very own professional baseball club, Hanwha Eagles, won the Korean series in 1999. Since its foundation in 1986, the club has produced many legendary players throughout its history, including Hyun-Jin Ryu, the first ever KBO player to go directly to MLB.

Hanwha Q CELLS has become international partner of the football club RB Leipzig starting with the 2017/18 season. RB Leipzig is a young and aspiring football club located in the eastern part of Germany, about two hours southwest of Berlin. The club was founded in 2009 and made its way from the fifth division to the Bundesliga – one of the top leagues in Europe – by winning four promotions within seven years. The “Red Bulls” – as the club is called by their family friendly and enthusiastic fans – stormed the Bundesliga in their very first season, finishing second behind powerhouse Bayern Munich. As the youngest team of the league, the squad qualified for Europe’s most prestigious football stage, the Champions League.
The partnership is contracted for two years and includes an option for renewal. Hanwha Q CELLS, with its product brand Q CELLS, will be present as a partner of the Red Bulls for national and international advertising measures among other things, including LED perimeter ads and cam-carpets positioned next to the goals as well as the coaching benches of the Red Bull Arena in Leipzig. The partnership with RB Leipzig will help us to increase our brand awareness among power consumers in Germany, Europe, and the rest of world, and to expand our customer base as well as our partnership network. It is a true a win-win partnership, which offers enormous potential for both parties.

Since 2012, Hanwha, a global leading solar energy company, has been the official solar partner of the San Francisco Giants which is one of the most revered ball clubs in the Major League Baseball (MLB).
The San Francisco Giants won the World Series in 2014, and it is worth noting that the Giants had won the World Series the very year that Hanwha had become the official solar partner in 2012. The list of accolades does not stop there. The Giants are committed to promoting sustainability and clean energy for the local community.
The club was recognized as the most environmentally conscious team by receiving the Green Glove, an award given to the team with excellence in environmental sustainability, 8 years in a row.
To energize and improve the lives of Giants fans and all Bay Area residents, Hanwha chose to make this partnership based on more than just baseball and kick started a series of green initiative campaigns titled, ‘I SUN SF’, which further contributed to the Giants’ legacy of environmental responsibility.
